This classic card game uses a standard 52-card deck, plus one joker. The number of cards dealt depends on the number of players: 13 cards for two players, and 7 for three or four players.
The objective? Score more points than your opponents by forming sets (cards of the same rank) and sequences (consecutive cards of the same suit), laying them on the table. The joker acts as a wild card. Gameplay continues in rounds until a player reaches 500 points.
A player's turn begins by drawing a card from either the stockpile or the discard pile (but cannot discard the same card drawn from the discard pile). Players can form melds (sets and sequences) and lay them down, earning points based on card values (numbered cards 2-10 equal their face value, J, Q, K are 10 points each, A is 15 points, and the joker’s value depends on its use in a meld). Points are also awarded for laying off cards onto existing melds on the table. The round ends when a player runs out of cards. The final score is calculated by adding meld and layoff points, then subtracting points for unmelded cards. The highest score wins the round. Scores accumulate across multiple rounds until a player reaches or exceeds 500 points, winning the game. Ties result in an additional round.
