The formation lap is nearly complete as you gently press the throttle and sharply steer one final time from left to right, aiming to maintain optimal tire temperature. You know it’s crucial for getting through that first corner with maximum speed. This could be your chance to make a strong start and overtake the two formula cars ahead of you—they’ve already taken their positions on the grid.
It's time to lift off the gas pedal and focus on the yellow line at your grid spot. As you lightly apply pressure on the brake, you try to gain every millimeter allowed by regulation, perfectly aligning your front wing with the white line marking your starting position.
Now, push the paddles located at the bottom of your steering wheel to disengage the clutch. Shift from 2nd to 1st gear. Your formula car remains still.
