Game Overview
Objective: The goal is to accurately predict and achieve the number of strokes you will win in each round.
Gameplay:
- Dealing Cards: The game starts with one card dealt to each player in the first round. The number of cards increases by one each subsequent round until reaching the maximum number possible for the number of players (e.g., 10 cards per player for 5 players).
- Bidding: Players, starting with the one to the left of the dealer, predict how many strokes they expect to win. The highest bidder chooses the trump suit.
- Restriction on Dealer's Bid: The dealer, bidding last, must ensure the total number of strokes bid does not equal the number of cards dealt in that round.
- Playing: Players play cards in turns, aiming to win strokes based on their predictions. The player who wins the stroke leads the next one.
- Scoring: After each round, players earn points based on how closely their predictions match their actual strokes won.
Scoring System
Points Calculation:
- Correct Prediction: Players earn points equal to the square of the number of strokes they predicted if they exactly match their prediction.
- Incorrect Prediction: If a player does not meet their prediction, they lose points equal to the square of the difference between the predicted and actual strokes.
Example:
- Player A predicts 3 strokes and wins 3 strokes: Player A earns (3^2 = 9) points.
- Player B predicts 2 strokes but wins 1 stroke: Player B loses ( (2-1)^2 = 1 ) point.
Game Progression
- The game continues with increasing cards per round until reaching the maximum, then decreases back to one card per player.
- The player with the highest total points at the end of all rounds wins the game.
