Application Description

The FreeStyle LibreLink app is designed to enhance your diabetes management experience by working seamlessly with both the FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors. With the FreeStyle LibreLink app, you can easily monitor your glucose levels by scanning your sensor directly with your smartphone. For those using the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor, the app provides automatic glucose readings updated every minute, and you'll receive timely alarms for low or high blood sugar levels, helping you stay on top of your health. [1][2]

The FreeStyle LibreLink app offers a variety of useful features to help you manage your diabetes more effectively:

  • View your current glucose result, trend arrow, and glucose history to understand your glucose patterns better.
  • Receive low or high glucose alarms when using FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors [2], ensuring you're alerted to potential issues.
  • Access detailed reports, including time spent in target range and daily trends, to track your progress over time.
  • With your consent, share your glucose data with your healthcare provider and family members [3], fostering a supportive environment for managing your diabetes.

Compatibility with Smartphones

The compatibility of the FreeStyle LibreLink app may vary based on your smartphone and its operating system. To ensure your device is compatible, visit http://FreeStyleLibre.com for the latest information on supported phones.

Using Your App and Reader with the Same Sensor

When using the FreeStyle Libre 2, you can choose to receive alarms either on your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or your smartphone, but not simultaneously on both. To receive alarms on your phone, you must start the sensor with the FreeStyle LibreLink app. Conversely, to get alarms on your reader, start the sensor with your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader. Once started with the reader, you can still scan the sensor with your phone. Keep in mind, the app and the reader do not share data with each other. To ensure comprehensive data collection, scan your sensor every 8 hours with the device you're using. Without regular scanning, your reports may not reflect all your data. You can upload and view data from all your devices on LibreView.com.
