Game Launches On May 20th
Following an exciting reveal trailer, Dune: Awakening is scheduled to hit the shelves on May 20th, 2025, initially for PC via Steam. Console gamers on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can also look forward to the game, though a specific release date for these platforms remains under wraps. In the lead-up to the launch, developer Funcom has rolled out the Character Creator and Benchmark Mode, enabling players to start their journey on Arrakis by meticulously crafting their character and ensuring their PC is up to the task.
With the Character Creator, players enjoy the freedom to customize every aspect of their avatar’s appearance, along with choosing their home planet, caste, and mentor or class. These characters will seamlessly transition into the full game at launch. As an added incentive, early character creators will receive an exclusive Frameblade knife skin, which can be redeemed using a code on the game's release day.
The Benchmark Sequence is designed to evaluate your PC's performance and adjust the graphics settings for the best experience. The sequence takes players through a player-built base in the desert, to the bustling Harko Village, a key Harkonnen player hub, and culminates in a thrilling encounter with a massive sandworm.
Priced at USD 49.99, Dune: Awakening will soon be available for pre-order on Steam. Pre-orders include a special in-game decoration, the Terrarium of Muad’Dib, featuring the beloved desert kangaroo mouse from the series.
