The success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues to soar, having sold an impressive 2 million copies within just two weeks of its release. Developer Warhorse Studios proudly announced this milestone on Twitter, describing the game's performance as a "triumph." This follows their earlier celebration when the game hit the 1 million sales mark a mere day after its launch.
This remarkable achievement is a testament to the appeal of Warhorse Studios' medieval Europe action role-playing game sequel, which debuted on February 4 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Last week, Warhorse's parent company, Embracer, highlighted that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 performed exceptionally well on Steam, achieving over 250,000 peak concurrent players. For comparison, the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance reached a peak of 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago.
It's important to note that the actual peak concurrent player count for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is likely even higher, considering its availability on consoles as well. However, neither Sony nor Microsoft disclose player numbers publicly.
Embracer, through its subsidiary Plaion, praised the initial success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, noting its strong reception among both players and critics, as well as its commercial performance. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors lauded the dedication of Warhorse Studios and their publisher, Deep Silver, stating, "This reflects the dedication and hard work of our development studio, Warhorse Studios, and our publisher, Deep Silver."
Wingefors expressed confidence in the game's future, saying, "It is our strong belief that the game will continue to generate substantial revenues over the coming years, highlighting the exceptional quality, immersion, and appeal of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The post-launch roadmap for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is packed with exciting content. In 2025, three expansions are scheduled: spring will bring free updates including a Barbers feature for additional customization, Hardcore Mode, and Horse Racing. Summer will see the release of the first paid content drop, Brushes with Death, where protagonist Henry assists an enigmatic artist with a shadowy past. The autumn expansion, Legacy of the Forge, will delve into Henry's past by exploring his adoptive father Martin's history. Finally, the winter expansion, Mysteria Ecclesia, will send Henry on a covert mission within the Sedlec Monastery.
