A two-player card game
This app features three card games: Four Card Golf, Six Card Golf, and Scat. Choose your preferred game in the Settings.
Four Card Golf Rules
This is a two-player card game.
Similar to real golf, the objective is to finish with the lowest score.
Each game consists of nine rounds. At the start of a round, each player receives four face-down cards. The remaining cards form the draw pile, with one card placed face-up to begin the discard pile.
Before play starts, each player may look once at the two cards closest to them in their square layout. These cards must remain secret. Players cannot look at their layout cards again unless discarding them during play or scoring them at the round's end.
On your turn, you may draw a card from the draw pile. You can use this card to replace any of your four layout cards, but you cannot look at the card you are replacing. Try to remember your replacements. Place the replaced card face-up on the discard pile. Alternatively, you may draw from the discard pile and simply discard that card face-up without using it.
If you draw from the discard pile, you must use that face-up card to replace one in your layout, then discard it. You cannot return the drawn card to the discard pile without changing your layout.
You may also choose to knock. After knocking, your turn ends. Play continues normally for other players (they may draw or discard), but they cannot knock. The round ends after this.
Scoring:
- - Any pair of cards (same value) in a column or row scores 0 points.
- - Jokers are worth -2 points.
- - Kings are worth 0 points.
- - Queens and Jacks are worth 10 points.
- - All other cards are worth their face value.
- - All four cards of the same rank are worth -6 points.
Six Card Golf Rules
This is a two-player card game.
As in real golf, the goal is to achieve the lowest score.
Each game has nine rounds. At the round's start, each player gets six face-down cards. The remaining cards form the draw pile, with one card placed face-up to start the discard pile.
First, a player must flip two of their cards face-up. They can then reduce their score by swapping cards for lower-value ones or by pairing cards of equal rank in a column.
Players take turns drawing a single card from either the draw or discard pile. The drawn card can be swapped for one of the player's cards or simply discarded. If swapped for a face-down card, the new card remains face-up. If the card is discarded, the turn passes. The round ends when all of a player's cards are face-up.
Scoring:
- - Any pair of cards in a column scores 0 points.
- - Jokers are worth -2 points.
- - Kings are worth 0 points.
- - Queens and Jacks are worth 20 points.
- - All other cards are worth their face value.
To swap one of your cards with a discard, tap on your card. To play a card from the deck, tap the draw pile to reveal it, then tap the discard pile to discard it or tap one of your cards to swap.
