The much-anticipated Among Us 3D has finally locked in its release date, and fans couldn't be more excited. Schell Games and publisher Innersloth made the big announcement on April 16, 2025, via the game's official Twitter (X) account: Among Us 3D will launch on May 6, 2025. Originally known as Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to cater to a wider audience with its exciting cross-play multiplayer feature. This week also saw the introduction of a new in-game currency, Stardust, which doesn’t expire and offers players greater flexibility in choosing their purchases.
What's new in Among Us 3D? Players can look forward to a permanent Tag Mode featuring the Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, a mix of new and returning mini-games, and an array of new cosmetics to customize your character. It's worth noting that Among Us 3D is a standalone game, separate from the 2022 release of Among Us VR. According to the FAQs on Schell Games' website, this separation allows the team to deliver quality updates to Among Us VR while crafting a unique experience for Among Us 3D on PC.
