Ace Trainer is a new Farlight Games release, in soft launch for select regions

Farlight Games, fresh off their successful 2024 collaboration with Lilith Games on AFK Journey, is launching a new title: Ace Trainer. Currently in soft launch in South Korea and the US, this game blends several popular genres in a unique way.

Ace Trainer features creature collection, training, and leveling, reminiscent of Pokémon. However, Farlight adds a twist: instead of traditional turn-based battles, players deploy their creatures in a tower defense-style game against zombie hordes. Pinball mechanics are also incorporated, adding another layer of resource gathering.

While the game's eclectic mix of genres – tower defense, pinball, creature collection, PvP, and PvE – might not guarantee widespread appeal, the multi-regional soft launch suggests Farlight has high hopes for Ace Trainer's success. The sheer number of features raises questions about long-term engagement, however.

The game's ambitious design, incorporating so many elements, is intriguing. While the UK launch is pending, the potential for both excitement and skepticism is clear. The combination of popular game mechanics is a double-edged sword; it could be highly appealing or ultimately overwhelming.
