Apple has officially renewed the hit series Severance for a third season.
The sci-fi psychological thriller from Ben Stiller and Dan Erickson remains Apple TV+'s most popular original, with the recently concluded Season 2 becoming the streamer's most-watched series to date. Read IGN's Severance Season 2 review for our full analysis.
“Creating Severance has been one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences of my career,” Stiller commented. “I have no memory of saying this, but I’m assured that filming Season 3 will be just as rewarding—though all memories of these upcoming events will, of course, be permanently and completely erased from my mind as well.”
“I’m thrilled to reunite with Ben, Dan, our phenomenal cast and crew, Apple, and the entire Severance family,” said star and executive producer Adam Scott. “Oh, one more thing—it’s not a big deal—but if you happen to run into my ‘innie,’ please don’t mention any of this to him. Appreciate it.”
Season 3 of Severance is available upon request.

Here is the official synopsis from Apple:
In Severance, Mark Scout (Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, where employees have undergone a surgical procedure that separates their work memories from their personal ones. This radical "work-life balance" experiment is thrown into question when Mark becomes entangled in a deepening mystery, forcing him to confront the truth about his job and his own identity.
In Season 2, Mark and his colleagues discover the severe consequences of tampering with the severance barrier, drawing them deeper into peril. The season introduces new series regulars Sarah Bock and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.
Unfortunately, a release date for Season 3 has not been announced. However, in a recent episode of Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, Stiller assured fans that the next season likely won’t face the same three-year wait that preceded Season 2.
“We don’t plan on taking that long again,” Stiller stated. “Definitely not. We hope to share our production timeline soon. It won’t be like that!”
“We had to navigate writers' and actors' strikes, and it took time to get back on track after that," Stiller explained. "Season 2 required 186 shooting days. There was extensive filming and post-production, and editing is a lengthy process. We're grateful our audience stayed with us when we returned."
