ARK: Survival Ascended's Extended Content Roadmap Unveiled
Studio Wildcard has recently unveiled an expansive content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, extending its updates through late 2026. This Unreal Engine 5 remaster of the popular survival crafting game, initially released in early access in November 2023, will receive a steady stream of new content and improvements.
Key highlights from the roadmap include:
-
Unreal Engine 5.5 Upgrade (March 2025): This significant technical update will bring substantial performance enhancements and reinstate Nvidia's frame generation. It also paves the way for individual DLC map downloads, reducing the overall game size.
-
New Maps and Creatures: The roadmap details the arrival of several new maps, both free and paid:
- Free Ragnarok Ascended (April 2025): Alongside a free Bison creature and a Fantastic Tame.
- Paid Premium Map (June 2025): Details to be announced later.
- Free Valguero Ascended (August 2025): Featuring a community-voted free creature and a Fantastic Tame.
- Free Genesis Ascended (Parts 1 & 2) (April & August 2026): Released alongside installments of Bob's True Tales.
- Free Fjordur Ascended (December 2026): Including a community-voted free creature.
-
Fantastic Tames: A total of six Fantastic Tames are planned, with three slated for release throughout 2026.
The roadmap emphasizes a blend of free content updates, including remastered maps and community-chosen creatures, alongside paid DLC, such as the new premium map and the Genesis expansions. While the roadmap provides a high-level overview, Studio Wildcard hints at potential additional surprises throughout the next two years. The focus remains on enhancing performance, streamlining the download process, and delivering a rich and engaging experience for ARK: Survival Ascended players.
