Obsidian Entertainment has unveiled its 2025 post-launch roadmap for Avowed, accompanied by detailed patch notes for the 1.4 update.
The studio shared insights into the fantasy RPG’s current and future developments on its official website. While Avowed's 1.4 update delivers notable additions—including an Arachnophobia mode for players who'd rather avoid realistic spider visuals and refined map exploration—the roadmap offers the most exciting glimpse into what’s ahead.

Three major updates are planned for Avowed in 2025. The first, now live with update 1.4, introduces quality-of-life enhancements like Xbox mouse/keyboard support, increased crafting resources, gear balancing, and a new camp feature. For newcomers to Eora, the summer update promises cooking/crafting refinements, expanded NPC interactions, fresh equipment, and customizable map markers.
The fall update will cap off 2025 with highly anticipated features: New Game Plus and Photo Mode. This content drop also includes a new weapon class, character customization options, additional presets, and localization improvements for Korean, Japanese, and French-speaking players.
“We recognize how crucial native language support is,” Obsidian stated. “Our teams are actively finalizing Korean/Japanese versions while improving French localization. We’ll deploy these updates as soon as they meet our quality standards—thank you for your patience.”
Avowed launched February 18, 2025, on PC/Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass. For update 1.4’s complete patch notes and secret quest details, click here.
