*Build Defense* is an engaging *Roblox* game that challenges you to construct a base using blocks while fending off an array of threats including monster attacks, tornados, bombs, and even aliens. At first, it might seem reminiscent of *Minecraft* with a twist, but it's actually closer to the original *Fortnite*—a blast from the past for those who remember it.
Regardless of its inspirations, *Build Defense* is packed with fun and a lot to learn. To help you get started on the right foot, we've crafted this Beginner’s Guide to navigate you through the game's key elements.
Build Defense Beginner’s Guide
------------------------------Below, we've outlined essential tips we wish we knew when we first started playing. Implementing these strategies will not only make your gameplay more enjoyable but also help you progress more quickly.
The object of the game is to survive…

When you're first dropped into your world and onto your plot of land, you might think the goal is to keep your plot secure. Not quite! The true objective is to **survive**—in other words, to avoid dying. The game will throw various dangers at you, and your job is to endure them. While it's ideal to do this at your plot by constructing a defensive structure, you can also simply **run around the world until the danger passes** (a strategy that works surprisingly well). Each time you survive, you earn a "Win" and some in-game currency. **Collecting Wins is key to progressing in the game.** So, keep an eye on the screen messages, and focus on staying alive. With that in mind…
… dying is completely normal

Don't fret if you die. It's a common occurrence and the consequences are minimal. You'll be respawned immediately, lose your items, and fail the current wave, but none of these setbacks are game-ending. You can **reacquire your weapons and items**, and since monsters and disasters can't destroy your structures, you'll have another chance every two minutes. Essentially, **you only lose a bit of time**—not a big deal at all.
Build high, not low

Initially, we thought encircling our plot with a wall would suffice for defense against monsters. However, this approach proved ineffective, as monsters would exploit entry and exit points. A more effective strategy is to **build a set of stairs that ascend high into the sky, topped with a platform**. During nighttime, you can retreat to this elevated sanctuary. Monsters attempting to climb will likely fall, and those who reach the top can be met with **turrets**. This setup is nearly foolproof and will help you survive most nights.
Don’t just build, explore!

There's much more to do on the island than just managing your plot. You can visit neighbors (other players), sell your ores, and **undertake quests**. Most quests require a certain number of Wins before you can participate, but some, like the **Gingerbread’s House quest**, are available immediately. Completing these quests is worthwhile, as they unlock new building components.
The “Shop” isn’t just for premium items

As you advance in the game, don't overlook the Shop. **Most items there can be purchased with in-game currency**, though you'll need to accumulate Wins first. So, play the game for a while before you dive into shopping. Remember to join the Swiftplay Roblox group, and like, favorite, and follow the game to receive a free gift.
When you’re ready, move to the next area

Once you've earned enough Wins (190), you can transition to the next area and begin the cycle anew. Expect new disasters, quests, and building opportunities.
That's the essence of it. Enjoy surviving and constructing in *Build Defense*. Don't forget to check out our *Build Defense* codes for some exciting in-game freebies.
