Unlocking the Lion's Crest Bonus Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
This guide details how to initiate and complete the bonus quest, "The Lion's Crest," available to players who pre-ordered Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This quest rewards players with valuable items.
Starting the Quest:
Once you've finished the tutorial and gained access to the open world, locate the scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. Speaking with him will initiate "The Lion's Crest." He'll provide a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick's polearm. You'll need to gather the necessary materials to craft the weapon at a blacksmith's forge.
Solving the Riddle:
The riddle reads:
"Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still."
The riddle's solution involves navigating the game world based on its clues.
Locating Brunswick's Armor:
The quest involves finding four pieces of Brunswick's armor, guided by treasure maps obtained after solving the first part of the riddle.

First Piece: Exit Trosky Castle through the northern gates, heading north through the forest. Locate rocky formations with crevices, leading to a cave containing a chapel. Examine the cross near the rock to find the first armor piece and two treasure maps.

Second Piece (Map 1): Follow the road west from the chapel to a crossroads. Head north into the woods to a wolf den. The armor is in a bag near the trees above the den.

Third Piece (Map 2): Go to the Vidlak Pond outpost. Behind the fisherman's house, find a large rock formation along the cliffs. A chest containing the armor is near a cross on the rocks.

Fourth Piece (Map 3): Fast travel to Zhelejov, leave the tavern, and cross two bridges towards Tachov. Take a small path to the river and forest. Find a hill with a large tree; the armor is in a bag near the tree.

Fifth Piece (Map 4): Travel to the hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. Locate rocks with a cross; the final armor piece is there.
