The upcoming Nintendo Store in San Francisco hasn't even launched yet, but already has its first dedicated fan camping out for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Dedicated Fan Arrives Weeks Early
YouTuber Super Cafe posted a video on April 8 documenting his journey to San Francisco, where he plans to camp for both the Nintendo Switch 2 launch and the store's grand opening on May 15.
The content creator traveled over 1,300 km (800 miles) and intends to remain camped outside for nearly two months, determined to secure the first spot in line on the West Coast.
"I literally just moved into my apartment two months ago," Super Cafe admitted. "Financially questionable decision? Absolutely. But I don't care - this is worth it."
Coastal Camping Tradition Continues
Following the pattern set by New York's Nintendo Store camper, San Francisco now has its own line-waiter. Super Cafe mentioned he's primarily camping solo but invited others to join him.
The YouTuber plans to address practical concerns like food, showers, and living arrangements in a future Q&A video.
This continues Nintendo's long history of devoted fans camping out for major console launches. With both coastal flagship stores now having early campers, it remains to be seen if more will follow suit.
Switch 2 Launch Details
Nintendo's next-generation console launches June 5, 2025. For those not planning to camp, our Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order guide provides current availability information, though US customers should be aware of potential pricing impacts from recent tariffs.
