If you're a fan of the classic murder-mystery game Clue, also known as Cluedo, you're in for a treat. Marmalade Game Studio has just released the 2016 Suspects Pack for the digital version, bringing back some beloved characters from that year's edition. This pack is a dream come true for enthusiasts who've been longing to see these iconic figures return to the game.
Who Are the 2016 Clue aka Cluedo Suspects?
The pack features the familiar faces of Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, Professor Plum, Dr. Orchid, and Mrs. Peacock. What makes this pack exciting is the flexibility it offers; you're not bound to any specific crime scene or case files. This means you can mix and match these characters into any scenario you desire, blending them with the newer 2023 cast if you wish.
The fanbase has been vocal about their desire to see the 2016 characters make a comeback, especially after the introduction of the more modern 2023 characters. It's heartening to see that Marmalade Game Studio has listened to the community's feedback and delivered this nostalgic update.
There’s More Coming to the Game!
In addition to the 2016 Suspects Pack, Clue aka Cluedo is introducing a new game mode called the Retro Rules Set. This mode takes you back to the roots of the game, allowing you to play by the original 1949 rules at no extra cost. This nostalgic mode reinstates some old-school mechanics that alter the way you move and make accusations.
In the Retro Rules Set, tokens start at designated spots on the board, and Miss Scarlet always takes the first move—unless she's absent, in which case Colonel Mustard steps in. You'll need to be in a room to make an accusation, and Clue Cards are omitted from this mode. Additionally, you cannot move through squares occupied by other players.
