Mastering Gem Crafting in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Unlocking Gem Crafting:
To begin crafting Gems, you must first progress to Chapter 1 and join Liu Bei's Volunteer Army. Visiting an Inn will trigger a letter from Zhang Fei, introducing Gems and their raw material: Pyroxene.
Acquiring Pyroxene:
Pyroxene is found throughout the game world as large, gem-like formations. These spawn randomly, so explore the overworld between battles. Additionally, Pyroxene can be obtained as rewards for completing side quests, accumulating Old Coins, and reading letters at Inns.
Crafting Gems:
Once you've gathered Pyroxene, return to an Inn to initiate crafting. The crafting process is randomized. The number of Pyroxene used doesn't influence the type of Gem created; the outcome is always random. However, a white glowing aura around a Gem type in the crafting menu indicates that only Gems of that specific type can be crafted during that session.
Gem Leveling:
Repeatedly crafting a specific Gem type will increase its effectiveness. These enhancements provide various combat buffs. Early in the game, you can only equip one Gem at a time, so strategic selection is key. Consider the Wellspring Gem (health regeneration per 100 enemy kills) for large-scale battles, or the Ascendence Gem (increased officer attack block chance) for duels. While initial buffs are modest, consistent crafting significantly improves their impact.
