Cronos: The New Dawn Reveals New Temporal Diver Difficulty Setting

Launching Early 2026

Cronos: The New Dawn has unveiled a new difficulty setting titled "Temporal Diver," scheduled for release in early 2026. According to a December 22 announcement from developer Bloober Team on their official website, this survival horror title will feature a new easy mode designed to let players immerse themselves in the narrative and atmosphere with far less demanding combat.

The announcement was accompanied by a brief trailer video detailing the new option and the reasoning behind its implementation. While Bloober Team initially crafted Cronos to test players' skills, the Temporal Diver mode is a direct response to community requests for a more approachable way to experience the game.

"We've heard your feedback, and we understand that some players wish to uncover the game's story at their own pace. That's why we are currently developing a new difficulty setting, set to arrive in early 2026. This is our calling," the development team stated.

Cronos: The New Dawn Cinematic Rescuing Another Player

Currently, Cronos offers two primary difficulty settings. "Anvil of the Collective" serves as the standard mode, while the more challenging "Forged in Fire" unlocks after completing the main campaign. The new Temporal Diver mode will grant players increased health and face them against less formidable enemies.

Fans have consistently praised Cronos for its "dark tone and oppressive atmosphere," noting that while the gameplay is deliberately tough, it maintains a sense of fairness throughout. Following its "Very Positive" rating on Steam, this new easy mode aims to welcome a broader audience of players seeking a less intense horror experience.

Here at Game8, we awarded Cronos: The New Dawn a score of 84 out of 100 for its compelling survival horror mechanics and deeply immersive world. To explore our full analysis of the game, check out our complete review below.
