CD Projekt Red, the developer behind Cyberpunk 2077, isn't finished with the game just yet. Another update is scheduled to launch later this month. Find out what the studio has planned and whether this is genuinely the final patch.
Cyberpunk 2077 Development Continues
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Arrives June 26
CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has more planned for Cyberpunk 2077, having announced an upcoming update. During the REDstreams event on June 5, the developers confirmed a new patch is scheduled for release later this month.
Wrapping up the celebration for Cyberpunk 2077's launch on the Switch 2, CDPR confirmed that Patch 2.3 will be released on June 26. They also mentioned that further details will be provided in another livestream before the update goes live.
On June 5, CDPR's Global Community Director Marcin Momot reaffirmed this news on Twitter (X), advising fans to watch for more information about the next Cyberpunk 2077 update. Pawel Sasko, Associate Game Director at CDPR, retweeted this on June 6, adding that the team has been secretly working on this for some time and will share more details when everything is finalized.
Is This Truly the Final Update?

CDPR has announced several "final" updates for the game over the past year, but this next patch may well be the actual last one as the studio shifts its focus to Cyberpunk 2. During the latest REDstreams, the developers humorously noted that the previous "last" update wasn't actually the final one.
The studio originally stated that Patch 2.1, released alongside the Ultimate Edition in December 2023, would be the "last major update." Then, in December 2024, they collaborated with support developer Virtuos to release Patch 2.2, introducing more customization features. Many players assumed that would be the final update, especially since the game first launched in December 2020.
This pattern of extended support isn't unique to Cyberpunk 2077. CDPR has shown a similar tendency with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Initially, the studio declared the next-gen Patch 4.0 in December 2022 as the final update, only to release another significant patch, 4.04, in July 2023.
More recently, on May 30, CDPR announced that The Witcher 3 will receive its definitive final update later this year. In a post on Twitter (X) celebrating the game's 10th anniversary, the studio revealed the patch will introduce cross-platform mod support, enabling players to share their creative mods within a unified ecosystem.

With Cyberpunk 2 now in pre-production and The Witcher 4's recent tech demo, it's reasonable to assume these will be the final major updates for their predecessors. For now, Cyberpunk fans can experience the game on Nintendo's latest handheld console.
The Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition launched on the Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. This edition includes the complete base game, all post-launch updates, and the highly praised Phantom Liberty expansion. For the latest news on the game, be sure to check out our article below.
