Phase 1

As you enter the battle, you'll find yourself in a castle with floors covered in a mysterious crimson liquid. The Blade Phantom is a relentless adversary, launching a variety of attacks that you must learn to counter effectively. Here are the key moves to watch out for:

  • A six-hit combo consisting of four punches and two kicks, with the second kick being a delayed attack.
  • A three-hit combo with two punches followed by a downward kick.
  • A four-hit combo that starts with a right hook, followed by two kicks, and ends with a leaping kick smash.
  • A three-hit combo with flashing punches, culminating in a grab that you must dodge.

In addition to these melee attacks, the Blade Phantom can summon a giant hammer, causing damage and red spikes to appear. If it opts for a spear, be prepared for a quick throw followed by a teleporting smash. When wielding a blade, expect a swift six-hit combo. The boss can also vanish and dash around the battlefield before striking.

Mastering the timing of these attacks is crucial. By parrying or dodging effectively, you can find openings to attack and deplete the Blade Phantom's stamina, setting up opportunities for a Brutal Attack. Continue this strategy until you reduce its health by about half, triggering the transition to Phase 2.

Phase 2

In the second phase, the Blade Phantom initiates with four claw attacks, followed by a high spear throw. After the spear lands, move away from the impact zone to avoid the subsequent leaping swipe. The boss then unleashes three greatsword slashes and a hammer smash.

While the Blade Phantom retains many of its previous moves, it introduces new claw attacks and increases its teleportation frequency. Be vigilant for the spear thrust and follow-up, as well as the swift dual-wielding attacks. When the boss wields the greatsword, anticipate multiple slashes and the final Burst Attack, signaled by a red P-like symbol on the screen. Use the Counterattack (L1/LB + Circle/B) to parry this move, restoring your stamina and leaving the boss vulnerable to further attacks.

To maximize your damage output, strike the Blade Phantom when its stamina is depleted, and only initiate the Brutal Attack when the window is nearly closed. This strategy will help you deal significant damage and secure victory. Upon defeating the boss, you'll be rewarded with 8,640 Lacrima, Soul Eater gear items, a Shieldsman’s Ring, and Netherworld Mineral for crafting.
