Deltarune Switch 2 Exclusive Features
Special Room and More Only on Switch 2
As confirmed during the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, Deltarune is receiving a Switch 2 edition. This version will bundle Chapters 3 and 4 with a set of features specifically designed for the next-generation console.
According to a Fangamer newsletter from Deltarune creator Toby Fox, the Switch 2 edition introduces a unique room that utilizes the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Fox explained, "We've created a small SPECIAL ROOM that leverages MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS SIMULTANEOUSLY, a feature exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2!!"
For players using devices other than the Switch 2, this special room will remain accessible but with a completely different control setup. Players can also transfer their save data from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune Chapters 1 and 2 to this new edition.
Future Deltarune Chapters to Be Free
Toby Fox also confirmed the game's price in the newsletter. Deltarune will be priced at $24.99 and will include Chapters 1 and 2 alongside the new Chapters 3 and 4. Chapter 1 originally launched in 2018, followed by Chapter 2 in 2021. While these initial chapters were free, it was previously indicated that Chapters 3 through 5 would be paid content.
Fox has now announced that all future chapters will be provided as complimentary updates. This means purchasing the game once grants access to all subsequent chapters at no extra cost. He commented, "My hope is that as we complete more chapters, you'll feel this game offers incredible value for your money."
The game's official soundtrack will also be available on Steam for $14.99. The upcoming release of Chapters 3 and 4 will feature over 150 songs. Music from future chapters will be added to the soundtrack at no additional charge. Deltarune aims to deliver outstanding value by providing all future story content and soundtrack updates for free.
DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 launches on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the Switch 2 release. It will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. For the latest news and updates about the game, be sure to read our coverage below!
