A new Digimon video game, titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger, has reportedly leaked through GameStop ahead of tonight's PlayStation State of Play presentation.
Gematsu first spotted and shared the listings for this mysterious project, providing store links that allow interested players to pre-order copies for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The GameStop pages currently do not feature any images or gameplay details for the unannounced Digimon Story: Time Stranger, but official information might be forthcoming.
This leak comes just hours before Sony's latest State of Play presentation, which is scheduled to include 40 minutes of content. While no specific details about the show's lineup have been disclosed, the timing of the Digimon Story: Time Stranger pre-order listings suggests a possible reveal during the event.
The Digimon Story series has a rich history that began with the original Digimon Story for the Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s. Since then, numerous titles have been released across various platforms, including Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth in 2015 and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory in 2017. A Complete Edition bundling both Cyber Sleuth titles was released in 2019.
In these games, players are typically transported into the Digimon universe to befriend and battle with digital monsters in RPG-style gameplay. While franchise producer Kazumashu Habu hinted at a new Story game in 2022, fans have been eagerly awaiting a new installment. Although games like Digimon Survive have provided some content in the interim, the potential announcement of Digimon Story: Time Stranger could signal the end of a long wait for a true sequel.
