If you're a match-3 fan, then today will be like Christmas come early for you. And that's because Royal Match developers Dream Games have just unveiled their newest release. Royal Kingdom offers even more in the way of match-3 fun, with a new story and an expanded cast to meet and interact with.
Speaking of story, Royal Kingdom will see you taking on the devious Dark King and defeating his invasion, solving match three puzzles to destroy his castles and defeat his minions. In the meantime, you'll solve other puzzles to earn coins and slowly rebuild your kingdom to not just survive but thrive.
And if we're talking about the cast, you'll meet King Richard, King Robert's younger brother, Princess Bella, the Wizard and many more! All of that while accompanied by the charmingly cartoonish visuals and graphics that Dream Games catalogue is known for.
It's not hard to see Royal Kingdom as being a sort of disguised sequel to Royal Match, given the broadened scope and the narrative elements. One of the more unusual things that made Royal Match more popular seemed to be that many fans really liked King Robert, the charming old ruler, so expanding the cast to another king, mage and even a princess seems quite a calculated move.
And with the return of leaderboards, rank-climbing and the discovery of new territories, it sounds like Royal Kingdom will have plenty in the way of content. So how will it fit in with its predecessor? We'll just have to wait and see.
