Star Wars Celebration has unveiled thrilling new details for the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu-themed update for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, set to launch alongside the new movie. This update promises an immersive experience, with Engineers taking on the exciting responsibility of caring for Grogu. Additionally, guests will have the chance to explore the iconic planet of Coruscant, alongside familiar locations like Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor, as part of a choose-your-own-adventure storyline.
Scheduled for release on May 22, 2026, this update will diverge from the plot of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie but will still prominently feature both Din Djarin and Grogu. The narrative kicks off when Hondo Ohnaka learns of a clandestine deal on Tatooine between former Imperial officers and pirates. This discovery sets the stage for an exhilarating chase across the galaxy. Guests will join forces with Mando and Grogu to pursue the culprits and secure a lucrative bounty, engaging in a dynamic, galaxy-spanning adventure.

While full details are yet to be revealed, we know that Engineers will have a significant role in this update, caring for Grogu throughout the adventure. What could be more exciting than that?
To delve deeper into what this update entails, we had the opportunity to speak with Asa Kalama from Walt Disney Imagineering. He provided some insights into what fans can anticipate:
"Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the engineers the opportunity to actually communicate with Grogu," Kalama explained. "It's going to be a ton of fun. There may be moments when Mando needs to leave the Razor Crest, leaving Grogu to his own devices, and he might get a bit playful with the control panel. We love the idea of these fun little vignettes and moments where you're interacting with Grogu over the comm."
Regarding the choose-your-own-adventure aspect, Kalama shared that there will be "a critical moment in your adventure where you're pressed for time and must make a quick decision about which bounty to pursue. This decision will be the inciting incident that determines which destinations you'll visit."
