Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered shuts its electronic doors for iOS

Author : Daniel Mar 24,2025

If you're a fan of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered on iOS, you might have encountered some recent issues with in-game purchases. Unfortunately, many players have reported difficulties in accessing the content they paid for, and there's both good news and bad news on this front.

The good news is that the team behind Crystal Chronicles has acknowledged these issues and devised a solution. The bad news, however, is that this solution involves discontinuing support for the iOS version of Crystal Chronicles Remastered. They've also provided instructions on how to claim refunds for any content purchased after January 2024.

Originally launched on the Nintendo GameCube with innovative (yet somewhat complex) multiplayer features that utilized GameBoy Advances as controllers, Crystal Chronicles was later revitalized with its mobile version. Despite this, recent problems with accessing paid content have led to the unfortunate decision to end support for the game on iOS devices.

Cracking crystalsWhile this resolution may not be ideal, it ensures that players affected by the issue can receive refunds for their purchases. Although this might be little consolation, it means you won't be financially out of pocket, even if you'll miss out on playing Crystal Chronicles Remastered on iOS for the time being.

It's somewhat ironic that a game which initially struggled due to its innovative approach is now facing discontinuation on a new platform. This situation underscores broader challenges related to game preservation on mobile devices.
