Mastering the Flare Knife in Freedom Wars Remastered: A Comprehensive Guide

Freedom Wars Remastered throws players into intense battles against formidable Abductors. To succeed, utilizing every tool is crucial. The Flare Knife is a valuable asset, and this guide details how to obtain and effectively use it.

How to Acquire the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is surprisingly accessible early in the game. After achieving Level 003 Code Clearance, visit Zakka in The Warren. Zakka's inventory includes the Flare Knife, purchasable for 3,000 Entitlement Points. Equip it via the Loadout menu in the Personal Responsibility Portal, selecting an available Combat Item slot.

How to Utilize the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is a reusable combat tool specifically designed for severing Abductor limbs. This is a significant advantage for players favoring Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons, eliminating the need for Light Melee weapons solely for severing. However, remember it's a single-use item per operation; repurchase is necessary for subsequent missions.

To use, lock onto a severable Abductor limb. Use your Thorn to grapple onto the target area. With the Flare Knife equipped, a sever option appears. A quick-time event (QTE) follows, requiring rapid button mashing to successfully sever the limb. Be aware that Abductors may attempt to interrupt the process by leaping or crashing into obstacles.

Cooperative play enhances the process. Snare the Abductor repeatedly with teammates to significantly simplify the severing QTE.
