Microsoft unveiled the sequel to Grounded at its Xbox Games Showcase 2025, with a release date set for as early as next month.
Grounded 2 is a brand-new installment in Obsidian's miniature garden survival series, a concept reminiscent of 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.'
Following the model of the original, this sequel will debut through Xbox Game Preview, offering early access as development continues. It will be available starting July 29, 2025, on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
The reveal trailer showcases gameplay beyond the original backyard setting. Now situated in a nearby park, players must once again craft tools for survival and face threatening creatures, including new adversaries like caterpillars.
However, not all wildlife is hostile. The trailer highlights a new mechanic allowing players to hop onto an ant and ride it as a mount—a fitting nod to the classic film's spirit.
