The latest GTA 6 trailer has arrived, and we’ve unpacked every hidden detail and clue within it. Unfortunately, fans must wait until May 26, 2026, to dive into Lucia and Jason’s adventure. In the meantime, let’s reflect on Rockstar’s legendary catalog and rank their games for fun.
Since its founding in 1998, Rockstar has launched over 30 titles, delivering iconic franchises like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which game reigns supreme? For clarity, this ranking focuses solely on Rockstar-developed titles, excluding published works like LA Noire or Max Payne 2. I’ve ranked them using an IGN Tier List, based purely on my personal enjoyment over the years. Check out my tier list here:

Red Dead Redemption 2 stands as my all-time favorite, earning an effortless S-tier spot. It’s joined by its predecessor and GTA 5, both trailblazers in cinematic open-world storytelling. I also hold a special place for Max Payne 3’s kinetic bullet-time action and GTA San Andreas, a nostalgic gem from my youth. At the bottom, in D-tier, sit titles like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!, games few would willingly revisit.
Disagree with my picks? Think Vice City outshines GTA 4? Create your own tier list below to rank Rockstar’s games and compare your S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the IGN community.
