Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Leak: Free 4-Star Character Selector on the Horizon
A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, potentially as part of a limited-time event. This selector would allow players to choose one of four characters: Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta.
This news comes as Honkai: Star Rail's 3.0 update approaches, introducing new gameplay features and characters. While the game boasts a roster of 23 4-star characters, many haven't maintained their meta relevance. However, some remain valuable in specific team compositions, particularly with higher Eidolon levels. Previous updates (Versions 2.1 and 2.7) offered similar free selectors, aiding players in strengthening their 4-star units.
The leak, originating from prominent leaker HomDGCat, indicates the selector will feature Qingque (Quantum, Erudition), Pela (Ice, Nihility), Serval (Lightning, Erudition), and Asta (Fire, Harmony). Interestingly, all are from the 1.0 cycle, and Asta is even an early-game acquisition. This aligns with earlier speculation that future releases might focus primarily on 5-star characters, potentially explaining the lack of new 4-star additions.
The current disparity between 5-star and 4-star characters is significant, with nearly 40 five-star units compared to 23 four-star units. Amphoreus is expected to introduce eight more 5-star characters, plus two additional units from the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail and Fate/Stay Night crossover. The 2.0 cycle only saw four new 4-star characters (including March 7th's alternate form), raising concerns about the future availability of new 4-star units in similar selectors.
Despite this, Version 3.0 promises exciting additions like Herta and Aglaea. To aid players in preparing for the upcoming character banners, Honkai: Star Rail recently released new redeem codes for Stellar Jades and materials. Players eagerly anticipate Version 3.1 and the potential benefits of this free 4-star character selector.
