Beloved voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his work in numerous Bethesda titles including Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Starfield, is critically ill. His family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his extensive medical bills and living expenses while he's unable to work.
According to a PC Gamer report, Johnson was found unconscious and barely alive in his hotel room after failing to appear at a charity event he was scheduled to host for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation in Atlanta on January 22nd. His wife, Kim, raised the alarm after being unable to contact him. Hotel security found him unresponsive, and emergency responders had difficulty locating a pulse.
The GoFundMe campaign, initially aiming for $50,000, has already surpassed its goal significantly, raising over $144,791 from nearly 2,200 donors. Beyond his extensive video game voice acting career, Johnson is also a long-time public address announcer for the Washington Capitals hockey team and has appeared in various film and television projects.
His impressive repertoire of Bethesda game characters includes Ron Hope in Starfield, Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in Oblivion, three Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others. The gaming community and beyond are rallying to support him during this difficult time.
