Speculation is rife, with several possibilities emerging. The event, scheduled for Thursday, January 23rd, follows the successful format established in previous years, showcasing titles like Tango Gameworks' Hi-Fi Rush. This year's confirmed titles include Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Industry insider Jez Corden suggests the mystery game originates from a legendary Japanese IP, dispelling rumors of a first-party Xbox studio origin. While Square Enix's participation is a possibility, given their existing PlayStation partnerships, a new Final Fantasy title seems unlikely in the near future.
Other strong contenders include Capcom's Resident Evil, particularly Resident Evil 9, which has reportedly been in development for some time.
