Lego has unveiled a new line of sets inspired by the upcoming live-action film, A Minecraft Movie, starring Jack Black as Steve. These sets not only build anticipation for the movie but also offer a glimpse into the mobs and characters fans can expect to see on the big screen. The film, set to premiere on April 4, will be preceded by the release of these exciting Lego sets on March 1.
Among the announced sets are the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack. Priced at $49.99, the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring set contains 491 pieces and hints at a thrilling gladiator-style battle scene. It features Jason Momoa's character, The Garbage Man, engaging in combat with a zombie riding a giant chicken, which stands about twice as tall as The Garbage Man. This set also includes figures of Steve, his friend Henry, and a giant zombie pigman, along with a fighting ring, a gold-filled chest, and a viewing stand equipped with weapons.

The second set, The Ghast Balloon Village Attack, priced at $69.99 and comprising 555 pieces, suggests a significant battle scene involving the Nether's iconic ghast. This set includes a village minifigure, two piglins, Steve, characters Natalie and Dawn, and an iron golem, all set against the backdrop of an overworld village under attack.

These sets join the existing range of regular Minecraft Lego sets but are unique in featuring characters from the upcoming movie, such as Black's Steve and Momoa's The Garbage Man. They provide fans with a tangible connection to the film's world and its characters.
The announcement of A Minecraft Movie in September drew mixed reactions from fans, particularly regarding the blend of live-action characters with a digitally animated environment. Some fans even recreated the trailer in a fully animated format to express their preferences. In response to the criticism, the film's director and producer, in an interview with IGN in November, acknowledged the feedback but assured fans that they were prepared to meet expectations and deliver a compelling cinematic experience.
