Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy's Precursor Basin: A Zoomer Driving Challenge

Following Fire Canyon, Precursor Basin presents a less perilous, yet arguably more challenging, vehicle-based level in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Mastering the Zoomer is crucial for trophy hunters aiming to collect every item. This guide details each objective.

Herd the Moles

This initial task involves guiding four blind moles back to their holes using the Zoomer. Simply nudge them towards their burrows. The Zoomer's hop aids sharp turns for efficient herding. Reward: A Power Cell from the Geologist in Rock Village.

Catch the Flying Lurkers

Located in the same area, Flying Lurkers require chasing and ramming. Anticipate their turns to intercept them effectively. The final Lurker drops a Power Cell.

Beat the Gorge Record Time (45 seconds)

Gorge Race Course

This race near Precursor Basin's entrance demands precision. Utilize Lurkers for airborne boosts. Strategic use of Blue Eco speed boosts, found between pillars and in tunnels, is vital. Avoid Dark Eco Crates. A skillful 180-degree turn after the pit is key. A risky, yet potentially faster, route uses a Lurker for a higher Blue Eco boost. A sub-40-second time earns a trophy. Reward: A Power Cell from the Gambler.

Get the Power Cell Over the Lake

This involves navigating narrow bridges and gaps using the Zoomer's hop. Precise timing and careful driving are essential. The route involves hopping across several islands. Reward: A Power Cell.

Cure the Dark Eco Infected Plants

Use Green Eco to charge the Zoomer and drive through the purple plants. Speed and efficient turns are crucial to prevent regrowth. Reward: A Power Cell.

Navigate the Purple Precursor Rings

Purple Rings

This time-limited challenge requires navigating a series of rings. The most challenging section involves a mid-air ring off a bridge. Reward: A Power Cell.

Navigate the Blue Precursor Rings

Blue Rings - Pillar

The Blue Precursor Rings are significantly harder. Key challenges include a high ring over the lake (use rocks for a boost), a tricky hop off a hill near Dark Eco Plants, and a series of tight turns around pillars.

Blue Rings - Hill Hop

Blue Rings - Final Ring

Precise driving and skillful hops are crucial throughout. Reward: A Power Cell.

Free the 7 Scout Flies

Scout Fly Location

Collecting all seven Scout Flies yields a Power Cell. Their locations are spread throughout the area, some requiring access via bridges and elevated platforms. Reward: A Power Cell.
