The LEGO Krusty Burger set perfectly embodies the "Adults Welcome" spirit that LEGO has embraced in recent years. Available exclusively at the LEGO Store, this 18+ set combines a satisfyingly straightforward build with a highly detailed, fully furnished fast-food restaurant straight out of Springfield. It’s packed with authentic references pulled from classic *The Simpsons* episodes, making it a true celebration of the long-running series. The set includes seven minifigures: Homer Simpson, Bart Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Farmer Krusty the Clown, Sideshow Bob, the Squeaky Voiced Teen, and Officer Lou—each adding to the nostalgic charm.

When you think of iconic Springfield landmarks, a few instantly come to mind: the Simpsons house, Moe’s Tavern, and the Kwik-E-Mart. The first two already have LEGO versions—so instead of revisiting Moe’s, LEGO chose Krusty Burger for its next official set. While Moe’s has a well-established, instantly recognizable interior, Krusty Burger is more of a blank canvas—its generic, corporate aesthetic appearing across multiple episodes without a fixed layout. That gave LEGO designer Ann Healy the creative freedom to craft the most definitive, canon-compliant version of the restaurant by pulling details from various seasons.
In an exclusive interview, Healy revealed that key episodes like “Coming to Homerica” (Season 20, Episode 21) and “I’m Spelling as Fast as I Can” (Season 14, Episode 12) heavily influenced the design. The build begins with Homer’s car, decked out in Krusty-themed decorations from “Homie the Clown” (Season 6, Episode 15)—a deep-cut detail that sets the tone for the entire experience.

The set is brimming with Easter eggs. There's a poster of the Krusty Burglar—whom Homer nearly kills for “stealing all the burgers” in “Homie the Clown.” One of the cash registers displays $6.15, a nod to that episode’s Season 6, Episode 15 designation. The other register shows $847.63—the exact amount Maggie scanned during the original opening sequence, which mirrored the monthly cost of raising a child in the U.S. at the time.

Posters advertise fictional Krusty products like the Ribwich and the Mother Nature Burger. The drive-thru menu calls for 700 Krusty Burgers—a reference to “Boy-Scoutz ‘n the Hood” (Season 5, Episode 8), where Krusty assembles a massive burger on an oil rig.
The layout is both nostalgic and functional. The dining area features a Krusty’s Kidz Zone ball pit—site of many classic scenes—while the back-of-house includes a full kitchen with fry station, a broken ice cream machine, employee bathroom, and a working drive-thru setup where minifigures can take orders and fill drinks. The prep station is stacked with Krusty Burgers, a brilliant example of LEGO’s minimalist design philosophy—conveying abundance with just a few cleverly placed pieces.

Even the drive-thru is thoughtfully designed: the order kiosk is positioned around the corner from the pickup window, mimicking real-world fast-food logistics. It’s a small but meaningful touch that shows this set isn’t just a collection of references—it’s a fully realized, functional space.

Designed for builders aged 18+, the Krusty Burger reflects LEGO’s shift toward adult-focused themes. While age ranges once indicated technical difficulty and motor skill requirements, today’s 18+ label also speaks to thematic relevance. Adults who grew up with The Simpsons deserve builds that are both accessible and meaningful—just like how educators provide age-appropriate, simplified content for older students still learning a language.

This set hits that sweet spot: easy to assemble, rich in detail, and deeply nostalgic. It’s tailor-made for Gen X and Millennial fans who want to relive their favorite moments without spending days on complex builds.

The last major LEGO Simpsons sets—the Simpsons house (2014) and Kwik-E-Mart (2015)—were released a decade ago. That gap may have allowed LEGO to grow its adult fanbase enough to justify bringing back Springfield as an annual theme, much like LEGO Lord of the Rings. Fans are clearly ready. So LEGO, if you’re listening: Krusty Burger was just the beginning. Now, give us Moe’s Tavern.
