Exciting developments are on the horizon for fans of Disney and The Lion King as Disneyland Paris gears up to introduce the first-ever land and attraction themed to the beloved 1994 classic. Set to break ground in Fall 2025, this new addition will be a centerpiece of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World.
The Lion King water ride promises an immersive journey through the film's most memorable moments, culminating in a thrilling 52-foot drop that's just two inches taller than the one found on Tiana's Bayou Adventure. A highlight of the ride, as showcased in a new concept image, features Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting.
Beyond the ride, the land will boast a 120-foot-high Pride Rock, along with a variety of dining options, shopping experiences, character meet-and-greets, and more, making it a must-visit destination within Disney Adventure World.
While The Lion King attraction is slated to open post-2026, following the grand opening of World of Frozen, it will contribute to the expansion that will double the current park's size. Disney Adventure World will also introduce other exciting attractions, including the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction themed after Up, which will be a spinning carousel offering panoramic views of the park's beautiful landscapes.
The new park entrance, World Premiere, will open on May 15, 2025, designed to mimic a glamorous Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and London's West End, will host theaters showcasing productions like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
