Don't Nod, the French studio behind Life is Strange, has launched the first part of their new narrative adventure. Players can now experience "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" launching free to all owners on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game centers on a close group of friends fractured during the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the specter of that summer returns, unleashing unforeseen and terrifying consequences.
Blending elements reminiscent of It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game masterfully weaves together nostalgia and psychological thriller elements. The game is structured in two parts: "Bloom" and "Rage," with only "Bloom" currently available (February 18th).
"The Tape," encompassing the second half, will arrive on April 15th. Initially planned for March, the release was delayed to refine the overall experience.
The review embargo has been lifted, and OpenCritic shows an average score of 74/100, indicating a promising start for this captivating mystery.
