Metaphor: ReFantazio Manga Releases First Chapter

Experience Will's Journey in Manga Form

Fans can now enjoy the first chapter of the official Metaphor: ReFantazio manga, a free read on MANGA Plus. Atlus collaborated with Shueisha, utilizing the talents of manga artist Yōichi Amano (Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden, Stealth Symphony).

This manga adaptation takes creative liberties, significantly altering the game's opening. Key differences include the omission of an initial game area, the introduction of new events, and a restructuring of existing ones, including the protagonist's interactions with allies. Importantly, the manga canonically confirms the protagonist's name as Will, aligning with the game's default.

The next chapter is scheduled for release on February 19th, simultaneously with the Japanese version.

Metaphor: ReFantazio Manga Releases First Chapter

Developed by Studio Zero (headed by Katsura Hashino, the director and producer behind the Persona series), Metaphor: ReFantazio is Atlus' latest IP. It follows Will and his fairy companion, Gallica, as they embark on a mission to save the prince of Euchronia. Following the king's assassination, the kingdom is thrown into turmoil, leading to a unique succession plan where the people choose their next leader.

The game achieved phenomenal success, selling over one million copies worldwide on its launch day, becoming Atlus' fastest-selling title, surpassing even Persona 3: Reload. It received widespread critical acclaim, earning numerous awards including Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative at the 2024 Game Awards.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S.
