The reason for the silence? Criterion Games, the studio behind Need for Speed, is fully dedicated to developing the next Battlefield game. Zampella emphasized that this new Battlefield is EA's top priority, with development involving four studios and a strong focus on incorporating player feedback to avoid repeating the issues that plagued Battlefield 2042. This player-centric approach extends to future Need for Speed content as well.
It's highly probable that EA will refocus on Need for Speed only after the launch and initial post-release support for the new Battlefield title concludes. This delay might prove beneficial.
