NieR: Automata's opening introduces 2B's mission. After landing and engaging in melee combat, you'll acquire a one-handed and a two-handed sword. The two-handed weapon, the Virtuous Treaty, is a powerful early-game weapon temporarily lost after the prologue. However, you can quickly reacquire it once free-roaming is unlocked in the subsequent chapter.
Where To Find the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata
This is an easily accessible early weapon. From your initial spawn point after exiting the bunker, locate the city ruins. Descend to the lower area and head left towards a highway overlooking the nearest access point. Climb the ruins to reach the highway. Following the highway will lead you back towards the factory.
Jump down to the factory and follow the grassy path to the main structure. On the left, you'll find another access point and stairs leading upwards. At the top, locate the destroyed bridge (where you fought the Goliath). The Virtuous Treaty is embedded in the ground near the bridge's edge.
Your discarded prologue equipment, including consumables, is located just to the right of the sword.
Virtuous Treaty Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 300-330
- Combo: Light 2, Heavy 2
This two-handed sword, typical of its type, delivers wide-sweeping attacks, impacting multiple enemies with high damage. Its attack speed is slower than other weapons. However, upgrades can potentially make it one of the highest-damage weapons in the game, provided you adapt to its slower speed. You can also incorporate it into combos with faster weapons by using a heavy attack during a quicker weapon's sequence. While this prevents a full Virtuous Treaty combo, it compensates for its slow speed while still leveraging its high damage output.
