NIKKE Global Players Boycott Over CN Server Differences
Global Players Frustrated
Players of GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE on the global server are voicing their frustration over the stark differences they've noticed since the Chinese (CN) server launched on May 22. The CN version has been showered with updates that global players have been requesting for over two years. These updates include faster loading times, automatic progress in Tribe Towers, enhanced character buffs, and improved in-game shops.
A notable point of contention is the quality of Regular and Manufacturer Molds on the CN server. These molds, which players open to obtain new characters, offer better odds on the CN server. While global servers have a 60% chance of getting an SSR and a 40% chance of an SR from high-quality molds, and a 50% chance of an SSR, 30% SR, and 20% R from Manufacturer molds, the CN server boasts a pity system. This system guarantees an SSR after accumulating 50 pity shards, a feature absent in the global version. Additionally, it's been reported that the CN server's Manufacturer Molds do not include Rs, thereby increasing the chances of obtaining SSRs or SRs.
Community Backlash
The community's response on platforms like Reddit has been one of disappointment and a sense of being sidelined. Players argue that it's unfair for SHIFT UP not to extend the same improvements from the CN server to the global version. Discussions often draw parallels with other games that employ similar strategies, prioritizing CN servers due to the lucrative market.
On NIKKE's official Discord, the feedback channel has been inundated with complaints. Threads expressing anger and frustration have garnered significant attention, with upvotes and comments in the hundreds to thousands. The most popular thread demands equal treatment, particularly highlighting a new Private skin exclusively available on the CN server. This thread continues to grow, with fans remaining unsatisfied with the current state of affairs.
SHIFT UP’s Response to the Backlash
In their May 2025 Developer's Note, SHIFT UP addressed the significant differences between the global and CN versions, attributing them to the 2.5-year gap and separate builds. They noted potential story spoilers but also highlighted the opportunity to introduce unique and complementary elements to each version. SHIFT UP acknowledged the fans' frustrations and emphasized their commitment to developing both versions independently, stating that "their differences will enrich one another." They pledged to continue supporting and enhancing the global version alongside the CN server.
Player Response to the Developer’s Notes
Despite SHIFT UP's efforts to clarify the situation, the player base remains unsatisfied. Subreddits like r/NikkeMobile and r/gachagaming have responded with mockery and satire, viewing SHIFT UP's statements as attempts to placate rather than address the core issues. Memes and satirical posts, such as user satufa2's depiction of SHIFT UP's "enriching one another" statement with a clown image, have circulated widely.
Players have called for a "spending freeze" and review bombing as methods to pressure SHIFT UP into action. These strategies are common in the gacha game community to directly impact a company's revenue. As the situation unfolds, players continue to voice their demands for parity across Subreddits and Discord, awaiting further action or statements from SHIFT UP.
