Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch 2 price of $449.99 during today's Switch 2 Nintendo Direct.
The Nintendo Switch 2, fully showcased today, will hit shelves on June 5, 2025, with pre-orders starting April 9.
“The Nintendo Switch 2 builds on eight years of innovation from the original Switch, offering portable and home gaming,” said Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa.
“Its new features enhance gaming experiences, marking a significant step forward in our mission to bring joy to all Nintendo fans.”

The Nintendo Switch 2’s price has sparked debate amid unique economic conditions, with factors like supply chain issues and potential tariffs influencing Nintendo’s pricing strategy, according to experts in January. Still, analysts predict strong sales at launch regardless of cost.
