Oscar Isaac Confirmed for Star Wars Celebration 2025
The upcoming Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo (April 18-20, 2025) will feature Oscar Isaac, fueling speculation about Poe Dameron's potential return to the franchise. This follows Daisy Ridley's appearance at Celebration 2023 where she announced her involvement in an upcoming Star Wars film.
The Sequel Trilogy concluded controversially with 2019's The Rise of Skywalker. Isaac's relationship with Star Wars has been complex - from publicly expressing reluctance about returning to showing newfound openness.
The Actor's Evolving Stance
Isaac humorously remarked in 2020 he'd only return "if I need another house," but softened his position by 2022, telling Variety he was "open to anything." He's also criticized Disney for rejecting his proposal of a romantic storyline between Poe and Finn.
John Boyega similarly voiced frustrations with Disney's handling of his character while remaining open to future opportunities. This has led to fan theories about all three Sequel Trilogy leads potentially reuniting in Ridley's upcoming Jedi Order film.
Future of Star Wars Films
The untitled Rey film would take place 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker, with Ridley expressing interest in Boyega's participation. Isaac's appearance fuels speculation about Poe's potential involvement.
Despite numerous announced projects, Disney continues delaying Star Wars films. The Rey movie (directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy) currently has no confirmed release date, though December 2027 appears the earliest possibility.
Star Wars Celebration 2025 may provide definitive answers about the Sequel Trilogy characters' future.
