After months of rumors and speculation, Atlus has finally confirmed the official Persona 4 remake is in development.
The announcement trailer for Persona 4 Revival (P4R) revealed it's coming to Xbox, PS5, and PC with day-one availability on Game Pass. While the preview was brief, the showcased environments demonstrated notable visual enhancements over the original game.
Following the reveal, P-Studio director Kazuhisa Wada shared these heartfelt statements:
We're thrilled to announce Persona 4 Revival and can't wait to share more details soon.
Persona 4 remains particularly special to me, having expanded into anime adaptations, fighting games like Persona 4 Arena, and rhythm titles such as Dancing All Night. Our team is pouring passion into this project to create something that will delight both new players and loyal fans alike.
We're also making significant progress on future Persona series developments and working diligently to exceed global fan expectations. Stay tuned for exciting updates.
Thank you for your continued support of the Persona franchise.
Remake speculation intensified recently through domain registrations, insider reports, and surprising comments from original voice actors about their non-participation, fueling fan theories.
Originally scoring a 9/10 from IGN, Persona 4 was praised for refining dungeon crawling and social mechanics. The enhanced Persona 4 Golden version remains the definitive experience, though its continued absence on Nintendo Switch despite fan demand remains puzzling.
