Author : Skylar Mar 22,2025

One of the most enjoyable aspects of *Final Fantasy XIV*'s social scene is the wide array of emotes players can use to interact. This guide shows you how to obtain the charming Photograph emote.

As part of a collaboration with Fujifilm Instax, *Final Fantasy XIV*'s Patch 7.18 introduced a free "Photograph" emote. This delightful addition lets you simulate taking photos anywhere in Eorzea.

Unlike many emotes locked behind quests or purchases, the "Photograph" emote is readily available in your Emote menu after downloading Patch 7.18. No level or expansion is required to unlock it.

To use it, open your Emote menu (under the "Social" tab), find "Photograph" (usually under "General"), and press it. Your character will strike a pose and snap a Polaroid-style picture. Add it to your Favorites for easy access.

While not continuous or ideal for AFK activities, the emote is versatile. Use it underwater (like in the Ruby Sea), on mounts (both grounded and flying), or to create fun, stylized poses. It's a great addition to enhance your *FFXIV* experience.

Patch 7.18 precedes the larger Patch 7.2 (arriving late March), which includes new dungeons, a return to the Arcadion, Cosmic Exploration, and more.

This concludes our guide on obtaining the Photograph emote in *Final Fantasy XIV*. Check out our other *FFXIV* content, including our guide to the Moogle Treasure Trove Phantasmagoria event rewards.
