Gigantamax Kingler Debuts in Pokémon GO: Max Battle Day Event
Pokémon GO enthusiasts have a thrilling event to mark on their calendars: the debut of Gigantamax Kingler during the Max Battle Day event on February 1, 2025. This much-anticipated addition to the game follows the introduction of Dynamax and Gigantamax forms last year, which have been steadily expanding the roster of these unique Pokémon variants.
Gigantamax transformations not only enhance a Pokémon's size and strength but also alter their appearance and equip them with exclusive G-Max Moves. While the main series games feature 32 Pokémon capable of Gigantamaxing, only six have been available in Pokémon GO so far, with Gigantamax Lapras being the latest addition. Now, the list is set to grow with the arrival of Gigantamax Kingler.

During the Max Battle Day event, players will have the opportunity to collect up to 1600 Max Particles, essential for engaging in Pokémon GO's Max Battles. All Power Spots will be dedicated to Gigantamax Battles, refreshing more frequently and offering 8x the usual amount of particles. From 12 am to 5 pm on February 1, players can earn double the Max Particles while exploring and need only travel a quarter of the typical distance to collect them. Additionally, a $5 ticket will provide 1 Max Mushroom, 25000 XP, double XP from Max Battles, and raise the Max Particle collection limit to 5600. A $7.99 box containing six particle packs will also be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store.
While the Max Battle Day event is a highlight of February's lineup, it's not the only event on the horizon. Niantic has also announced the Lunar New Year event, running from January 29 to February 1. Although Gigantamax Kingler won't be part of this event, players can look forward to other exciting activities, including the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in a Shadow Raid Day on January 19, and the introduction of more Galar Pokémon in the coming days.
