Pokemon TCG Shortage: Company Address Evolutions Card Crisis

The Pokémon Company addresses ongoing shortages of its highly anticipated Scarlet and Violet—Prismatic Evolutions expansion. Acknowledging widespread difficulties in obtaining the product, the company assures fans that reprints are currently in production and will soon be distributed to licensed retailers. This statement marks the first official recognition of the supply issues affecting the January 17th release.

The statement, released following numerous fan complaints on social media, cites "high demand" as the cause of the shortages, without explicitly addressing speculation regarding scalping. The Pokémon Company emphasizes its commitment to increasing production to meet this demand as quickly as possible. While a specific date for increased availability wasn't given, the company assures fans that reprints are en route to distributors.

Beyond the initial release, additional Prismatic Evolutions products are planned for release in the coming months, including:

  • A Mini Tin and Surprise Box (February 7th)
  • A Booster Bundle (March 7th)
  • An Accessory Pouch Special Collection (April 25th)
  • A Super-Premium Collection (May 16th)
  • A Premium Figure Collection (September 26th)

Furthermore, players of the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game can obtain Prismatic Evolutions cards starting January 16th via the Battle Pass. The Pokémon Company expresses gratitude for fans' patience and continues to work diligently to resolve the supply issues.
