What is the Pokémon GO Tour Pass?

The Tour Pass, debuting with the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova global event, allows players to earn Tour Points by completing various in-game tasks. These points unlock rewards, boost rank, and enhance event bonuses.

The free Tour Pass is automatically granted at the event's start (February 24th, 10 AM local time). A paid "Tour Pass Deluxe" option ($14.99 USD or equivalent) offers an immediate Victini encounter, upgraded rewards, and faster progression.

Earning and Using Tour Points

Tour Points are earned through familiar activities: catching Pokémon, raiding, and hatching eggs. Daily Pass Tasks provide additional points. These points unlock rewards, increase your rank within the Tour Pass tiers, and boost Catch XP bonuses.

Tier progression unlocks rewards (Pokémon encounters, Candy, Poké Balls, etc.) and increases Catch XP bonuses:

• Tier 2: 1.5x Catch XP
• Tier 3: 2x Catch XP
• Tier 4: 3x Catch XP

While Niantic hasn't revealed all rewards, the free pass culminates in a Zorua encounter with a special background. The Deluxe Pass's top reward is a Lucky Trinket.

The Lucky Trinket

The Lucky Trinket, exclusive to the Tour Pass Deluxe, is a single-use item transforming a friend (at least Great Friends level) into a Lucky Friend, enabling a Lucky Pokémon trade without needing Best Friend status. Note that these Trinkets expire on March 9, 2025.
