This excludes those who acquired Days Gone through PlayStation Plus, leaving them with a $49.99 price tag for the PS5 remaster.
Days Gone's availability on the now-defunct PS Plus Collection and as an Essential monthly game in April 2021 is the source of the frustration. Many PS Plus subscribers have taken to online forums, like the PlayStation Plus subreddit, to express their disappointment. They readily admit they would have paid the $10 upgrade fee, but now plan to skip the remastered version entirely.

While some PS Plus subscribers understand Sony's likely financial calculations behind this decision, the company is still facing criticism for its perceived stinginess. This has led to some hardcore fans expressing disappointment over the lack of generosity from PlayStation.
