R.E.P.O Console Release Confirmed

*R.E.P.O.*, the thrilling co-op horror game that debuted in February, has captured the attention of over 200,000 PC gamers. But the big question on everyone's mind is: will *R.E.P.O.* make its way to consoles? Here's the latest information you need to know.

Is R.E.P.O. Going to Come to Consoles?

Currently, *R.E.P.O.* is exclusively available on PC and there are no plans announced for a console release. The game's developer, semiwork, has not hinted at any intentions to port the game to consoles. Instead, their focus remains on refining the multiplayer experience on PC, which has encountered some challenges.

One significant hurdle they face is enhancing the game's multiplayer mechanics while preventing it from becoming a breeding ground for cheaters. According to the developer, via PCGamer, "The main issue with matchmaking lobbies is hackers. But the issue with an anti-cheat system is that you’re ruining the experience for everyone who has made mods, because mods don’t work with an anti-cheat system. And we don’t want that." This dilemma needs to be resolved before any console port can be considered.

While other PC-only titles like *Mouthwashing* have successfully transitioned to consoles, it's worth noting that *Mouthwashing* is a single-player game, which simplifies the process. Similarly themed games like *Lethal Company* and *Content Warning*, which involve sneaking past monsters, have also stayed PC-exclusive. Last year, the developers of *Content Warning* mentioned exploring a console release but cited technical difficulties. Since then, there has been no further update on a console version.

So, to answer the burning question: will *R.E.P.O.* come to consoles? As it stands, the developer has not expressed any interest in a console release and is instead concentrating on improving the multiplayer aspects of the PC version.
