Serial Cleaner tasks you with cleaning up crime scenes while under the influence of a moustache

Author : Charlotte Dec 11,2024

Serial Cleaner, the fiendishly fun crime-scene cleanup puzzler from 2019, is making a comeback! But will this be a refined re-release, or simply a modernized port? Only time will tell.

The game plunges you into the gritty, yet cartoonish, underworld of the 1970s. Think urban decay, stylish gangs, and a healthy dose of absurd violence (killer sharks, anyone?). You play as Bob Leaner, a professional crime-scene cleaner tasked with the delicate art of disposing of bodies, erasing bloodstains, and generally concealing evidence of mob activities – all while dodging the long arm of the law.

Remember our 2019 review? The consensus was that Serial Cleaner showed promise but felt somewhat incomplete. Developer Plug-In Digital is now self-publishing, bringing this puzzle-action title back to mobile platforms.

yt A groovy return

Pre-registration is open, with a February 11th, 2025 release date. While the extent of the improvements remains unclear, a polished update would be a welcome change. However, given the time elapsed since the original launch, significant enhancements might be unrealistic.

The core concept remains captivating, but a simple mobile re-release dampens the excitement slightly. Nevertheless, Android users who missed out, or those experiencing compatibility issues with older iOS versions, might consider this an early gift.
